What does pairing mean and do I need to do it?
"Pairing" simply means connecting two devices so they can talk to each other, in this case, your watch and your phone. Yes, you do need to do it, and here's why it's worth it.
Think of it like introducing two friends. Once your watch and phone have been introduced (paired), they recognise each other and work together automatically.
Pairing lets your watch:
- Send your heart rate, steps, and sleep information to the app, where you can see it.
- Keep your Care Circle updated that you're doing well.
- Get help to you quickly if you use the SOS button or have a fall.
You only pair once. After that, they stay connected on their own, there's nothing more you need to do.
Don't worry if this feels new, it's a simple step and the app guides you through it. See our guide on linking your watch with the app.
