Is Bluetooth safe?
Yes, Bluetooth is safe, and it's an important part of how your watch works. Here are the answers to the questions people ask us most.
What is Bluetooth?
Bluetooth is a way for two devices that are close together, like your watch and your phone, to talk to each other without any wires. It's the same technology used in wireless headphones and hands-free car kits, and it's been used safely for many years.
Can anyone connect to my watch without permission?
No. Your watch only connects to your phone after you've paired them, and pairing needs your approval. A stranger can't simply connect to it.
Can someone access my phone, emails, or bank details through the watch?
No. The connection between your watch and phone is only used to share your Lifeline Connect health information. It has no access to your emails, banking, or other apps.
How do you keep my data secure?
The information sent between your watch and phone is protected (encrypted), which means it's scrambled so no one else can read it. We only ever collect the information needed to keep you safe and well.
Keeping Bluetooth switched on simply lets your watch and phone stay connected. If you have any concerns, our support team is happy to talk them through.
